Correa shaping up to be a steal

Since the start of training camp, Kamalei Correa has been running with the first team defense and he is proving why he is worth a shot.

The second round pick is standing out and is making plays. He is making a bid for the starting inside linebacker position next to CJ Mosley. On Monday's night open practice at M&T Bank stadium, Correa introduced himself to Joe Flacco, Dennis Pitta, and Mike Wallace. Correa got into a scuffle with Pitta, which Pitta sprained his finger. The Correa leveled Wallace on a crossing route over the middle, which he then got an earful from Flacco.

Correa was originally drafted as an outside linebacker and was expected to be the next linebacker in after Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil. The Ravens had other plans and wanted to get Correa on the field as much as possible. He is making the most of his opportunity. However Correa did play a little bit of inside linebacker at Boise State, but is still making the adjustment to the NFL.

Right it looks like the Ravens may have found a replacement for Daryl Smith and a hidden gem in the second round.
